Are we constrained by the fate of our lineage? Or do we have the power within us to alter our future? As a child raised between families, Dora Blunt is overjoyed when she ultimately discovers a true home in the embrace of her distant aunt, Grace Blunt. Grace, who lost custody of her son Jack after being judged unfit for motherhood, sees Dora as an opportunity to amend her past mistakes - a blessing from the heavens. The bond between them deepens, and Dora feels as though she has at last found where she belongs. However, when Jack reenters Grace’s life, Dora experiences conflicting feelings: jealousy mixed with curiosity, happiness intertwined with fear, and perhaps most profoundly, a longing to be desired. As she senses herself being pushed back into the familiar darkness of neglect, Dora must do whatever is necessary to take charge of her life’s direction and remain in the light.
